< Clan PpZ - History >

This is the brief, yet interesting history of our humble clan, PpZ.

First of all, PpZ is the revival of an old CS clan that was around about 2-3 years ago, but ended up slowly dying out (unfortunately). We used to be te {db} clan, which stood simply for "da bucket." Now back in the day when it was still around we had a server, and it was run by four individuals: PhuzzyBunnySlipperz, yoyokid, tw!sted, and myself. I wasn't with {db} very long before I decided to take a significantly lengthy break from Counter-Strike. However, when I came back to CS a year or more later, I was sad to find that {db} had been disbanded and had died out. Not only that, but I had a hell of a time tracking down all the old members. Luckily for me, NuEra had created a Steam Community Group for {db}, and I was able to find most of our old clanmates through there. In addition, I also found a few newer guys who had joined after I had left. So how did the revival of {db} turn into PpZ? Well, I'll tell you. That in itself, is another story as well.

Way before I even started playing CS (this dates way back to public school, sometime beginning around grade 6 or 7), I used to play a game some of you might know; Worms Armageddon. If you've never played it, let me just say, you're missing out. It's a little outdated now, but is still a very fun game and is (believe it or not) still played by many. Basically, it's a turn-based game in which your team of worms has specific objectives to complete (mainly to kill the worms on other teams). As the game became more popular, people developed their own specific types of Worm games, which each had their own rules, settings, etc. Anyways, not long after I started playing W:A, I joined a Worms clan operated by Ray (you might know him as RazerRaY) called (drumroll...), you guessed it, PpZ! Now, the cool thing about PpZ (which remains true about our CS division) is that rather than focusing on skill, PpZ recruited members based on their attitudes and how well they got along with the other clan members. Anyways, PpZ was probably the most respected clan on WormNET (the online Worms Network), perhaps only second to Vaughn's SfX clan (just because LiKwiD was so incredibly good at the game). The Worms clan eventually geared themselves more towards World of Warcraft, and you can still find them today over at PpZClan.com. Personally I hate WoW, but if you're into it, I guarantee you won't find a group of cooler people to play with anywhere. So now that you have some background info about what PpZ is and where it came from, you're still wondering how {db} became PpZ? Well, the answer is simple. I loved the Worms division of our PpZ clan. Enough said. I loved everything about it; the people were amazing, the forum was great, and it was a total blast to play with the other PpZ'ers. Essentially, I liked the clan so much, we branched off into our CS division and kept not only the name and the tag, but also the ideals upon which the clan is founded. Personally I always thought the name "da bucket" was pretty ghetto, but I accepted it while it lasted. When we formed the CS division of PpZ, we decided to keep it the same, just for a new game.

And that's basically a really brief synopsis of how PpZ originated. For information on how the original W:A PpZ clan originated, RazerRaY could provide you with much more accurate info than I ever could. He is, without a doubt, the father of PpZ itself.
